2 cm.

Our birthmom went to her weekly visit today and she is 2cm dilated!!!! I know that people can stay dilated like that for a long time... but whoa... I was shocked!! We are at 35 weeks 4 days... but the doctor is expecting her to go early...

I have so much to do. I am in panic mode.

We have scheduled 2 baby showers one for the 21st and one for the 26th... we are scheduled for an update on our home study on the 20th. My biggest show of the year opens on the 24th... Plus working about 50 hours a week until Finley's arrival.

Plus... I am having major allergy issues... How can a nose be totally stuffed up and yet be trickling snot??? I feel as if the mucus monster from the commercials has moved his whole mucus family in to my chest.

Next week is spring break... so I am hoping that we can have that time to pull everything together... but if not... we will fly by the seat of our pants! Woo hoo!

Please tell me what I can do to prepare myself... I need a get ready list or something.

You can sleep. Once Finley gets here there won't be a lot of it. They say to sleep when the baby does, but you're so enamored that you watch the baby sleep. So, sleep. You have a freezer overflowing with breastmilk and a blanket - add your love and that's all she needs.

Congratulations!!

Don't worry! You are ready. I agree with Michelle: sleep as much as you can! And go out for as many fancy dinners as you can, in preparation for a few years of mostly pancake houses. :)

Are you sending out announcements? Its a good idea to get the envelopes addressed and stamped now, to save time later.

Also, anytime you cook from now on, make a double or even triple batch and freeze the extra for after she arrives. You will be so glad you did it. Also, make a batch of granola bars with oatmeal in them (to boost your milk production), wrap them individually and freeze them for later so you can grab them as needed.

Can't wait for more updates!

Sleep and relax is what you can do! :) But you're nesting. And you're just busy in general. And honestly? Keeping busy makes the time go faster. Can't wait to "meet" Miss Finley! Your Baby Wait is almost over!! :)

Just keep breathing. You'll get there. You know what you need to do. You're so ready for this. Just keep breathing.

Great idea about the announcements!

Get rid of your "expired" breast milk so all you have is the freshest stuff. There is a limit on it.

Bath needs are a must, Diapers, and Wipes. Mylicon drops, Dye free kind, and Diaper rash stuff

Diapers and somewhere for finley to sleep - if you're not planning to co-sleep. The rest you will work out and everyone ends up going to the shop to get something in the first couple of days anyway.

Congratulations!

Take long baths and go out to your favorite restaurants that aren't baby-friendly. Go to the movies.

Uh oh! LOL You are experiencing all the "crazy", "fly by the seat of your pants" that comes along with being an expectant / new mommy! This is what you can do....Just breathe. Regardless of what you do to prepare your baby is coming. It is true that she can be 2cm for weeks...but its also true that she could also go from 2cm to 10 cm in 2 hours! You have prepared for this day for your entire life...don't second guess yourself...you are ready. You have diapers, clothes, breast milk, wipes, a car seat and a place for your baby to sleep....that is what you are going to need the first few weeks - the rest will work itself out - it always does.
Good luck and congratulations to you and Greg.

I agree, there is lots you can get done once she gets ehre, but right now you need to REST..sleep, get yourself and your body ready for her arrival.

all good ideas (like the stamping and addressing of envelopes etc) the most important one is that you HAVE to try to rest now ..

can't wait to hear all about it.

Don't stress! I had very little before my son arrived (superstitious after IVF) and it worked out fine. There are two great services you can use to get almost anything you need delivered:

Diapers.com - 1 or 2 day delivery in most areas, free for orders over $49

Amazon.com with PRIME - free 2 day shipping, 3.99 one-day shipping.

Between those two, we got anything we turned out to need very quickly and with a minimum of stress.
