cd 11

Holy Crap. After 5 days of 100mg of clomid I went in today for my day 11 sono and blood work...

I have 15 follicles growing... FIFTEEN! Has anyone else ever had that many??? They range from 12mm -5mm. Hopefully two or three will become dominant and the others will fade away... because my doctor won't trigger me if there is more than 4 that are mature.. and then we can decide to do the IUI without the trigger, skip the IUI and just have sex, or just abstain because while we do want a baby or ever 2 babies... 4 is kind of out of the question.

So that is where we are... just waiting until Friday to see what grew...

Any suggestions?

My day 2 FSH was 5.9 and my E2 was also in the normal range...

I will post today's blood results when I get them.

I also think I am getting a yeast infection... can I use anything? Or will that kill sperm... I will call my nurse tomorrow... but if you know anything please post.

Wow... 15 follicles!

Hi! I, too, am in a cycle where I used 100mg of Clomid. I did that for 5 days and then started Menopur injections. On my first ultrasound, I had 15+ follicles - 2 on the right and tons on the left. The doctor told me to stop all meds and come back in 2 days for another ultrasound. At that time I had 3 follicles that were 19+mm and the rest were 15mm or smaller. They gave me a trigger shot on the spot because they didn't want the 15mm follicles to have a chance to catch up and mature (that was CD 11). The next day they did the IUI (that was yesterday). I haven't had much luck getting or staying pregnant, so I'm not really worried about triplets or more. The doctor wasn't either - or he would have canceled the IUI. I hope this helps!!!

don't use anything for your yeast infection. it's probably not an infection since clomid can make the CM funky. as in thick and chunky funky.
thank goodness you had such a great response - take the chance and have normal fun sex! :-D

Holy crap! After the highest dose of Femara (which is supposedly like Super Clomid), my highest egg count has been three. You are amazing!

I have PCOS so I always have tons of follicles. Usually 30+ every cycle. As long as they aren't all over 10mm you're ok, because usually only the larger ones make it to maturity. I'm a little surprised though that they are waiting until Friday to check back - a 12mm follicle could make it to maturity in a couple days. I guess they (and you) know how fast your follicles usually grow though...

The main concern is usually high E2 levels, because those give an idea as to your chance of OHSS. As long as those are normal and you don't have a bunch of follicles that are all within a couple mm of each other, your odds are good. Usually only the follicles that are really close in size to the lead follicle will release an egg. The last cycle I had 7 follicles that were between 11.9 and 16.1mm the day before my trigger shot but my E2 was still in an acceptable range so they didn't cancel me. I still did one shot of Gonal-F that night so we could have had 7 'mature' follicles at ovulation time. Odds are though that only 3 released because the other were more than a couple mm smaller that the lead.

The result? We're expecting a son in December! 1 baby from a possible 7 eggs.

I say go for it - odds are definitely in your favor that you won't get high-order multiples. Hopefully everything will continue going well and you can go ahead with the IUI this cycle, because that will increase your chances too! Good luck!

Wow, those ovaries are quite the overachievers! Woohoo!

I'm sorry about the YI. I have heard that Monistat OTC is okay to use when you're pregnant so I'd assume it is okay to use now but maybe you could run it by the doc first.

CD 9 I had 2 11mm and 1 13mm with several smaller follicles.

CD12 I had 9 follicles between 13-20mm and several smaller. Doctor said I had a 15-20% chance of 3 or more at that level and wouldn't give trigger until I discussed with my husband.

You know the ending to the story. Good luck to you.
